Day 158: Wintery Sycamore Leaves, Part Two

Wintery Sycamore Leaves (Watercolour)

Wintery Sycamore Leaves (Watercolour)

It’s been a beautiful day again today and hard to imagine grey skies and cold winter days (unless you’re out of the sun, then it’s a bit easier). Of course it always a dead give away when the washing doesn’t dry in one afternoon, but it was still glorious anyway.

It’s been fun continuing with this picture of a bare sycamore tree…the colours are lovely with sap green, gold ochre and burnt umber forming most shades and a little added ultramarine blue to darken the browns. There’s just a little more work to do beefing up the branches and adding definition to the leaves, and then I should try a bigger version and get off these A4 size pads!
