Guess where I’ve been today! Yep, back to Chinese painting class, for the first time in months, and it was lovely to be back :-).
Having now spent a whole year in the intermediate level group I was invited to move up to the advanced class, but I’ve missed so much lately and haven’t practised for so long, that I decided I’d like to stay at intermediate for a little longer. There was another incentive too… I missed this term last year and the winter subjects are really quite interesting, so I’m keen to try them all.
And here’s the first, some beautiful, vibrant Camellias. You might see a similarity to the Hibiscus that we painted last year? They’re done with the same technique but have different stamens and callix. It was very pleasant to find I could still manage this style after so long without practice!
