Here is the initial stage of the saxophone player I saw practising on the playing fields earlier this week. I started off trying a few compositions in pencil, eventually deciding on this semi close up – in the photo I took he was further away from the tree, and the tree was bigger too. Maybe a mistake, too soon to tell :-).
Not much to see so it’s looking OK so far today: sketched out the composition and one quick wash of Sap Green with Lemon Yellow towards the horizon. It’s such an unusual subject for me, I’ve no idea where I’m going to go next!
