What a treat! The last two weeks of Chinese Painting class will be filled with painting magnolia. I’m so happy to be off the landscapes and back onto a subject I enjoy more, one with some colourĀ :-).
Our challenge this week was to paint the main two flower heads of the composition, and I’m very pleased with mine – they just needed to have a bit more grading in their colour, with a slightly darker shade towards the base of the flower. It’s great to see that all my practice with flowers earlier in the year has paid off and I can manage a graded brush stroke without too much effort now.
Lots more to come in this picture, but for now I’m going to enjoy practising this bit again for next week’s class.
