I wanted to make this picture look a little bit more stormy, so I’ve added even more dark to the tops of the waves and also introduced some green to them as well. This was to tie in with the colour I’ve used for the black of the whale, which is a mix of Paynes Grey and Hookers Green.
The Whale has also had some attention and some stronger colour. Then finally I removed the masking and softened the top edge of each frothy wave so it didn’t look too harsh.
To me the whale looks quite stiff, stuck in it’s pose… but I suppose they are big animals and probably don’t bend that much 😛
