Day 282: Sultan Tit, Pt. 3

Sultan Tit (Chinese Spontaneous Style)
Sultan Tit (Chinese Spontaneous Style)

The Sultan Tit is looking much better with a bit of colour, although some of the shading is a bit light – the yellow parts should have a bit more Burnt Sienna added here and there to give some depth. The eye is Cinnabar, the foot is a mix of Cinnabar and Burnt Sienna, and the beak is just Burnt Sienna with a little ink added.

So I’ve completed my Chinese Painting homework now for this week and I’m waiting to find out where we go next with this. I know there’s a branch to add, and leaves, but not how it’s to be done. That will have to wait for Monday’s class…

In the meantime Mum & Dad are going to be on a plane tomorrow night, back to England. The past four weeks have flown by and I’m not really ready to let them go yet, but then I think I could happily keep them here indefinitely :-). It’s been great painting with Mum, especially as she doesn’t do it much at home and yet, of the pair of us, she’s invariably been the first to sit down here. Keep it up Mum!

It’s also been wonderful hearing Dad playing guitar around the house at various times of day and night. It’s one of the sounds I never fully realised that I miss most from home, something I’ve grown up hearing daily and that is completely missing these days. It’s been a fantastic few weeks but I’m going to really miss them both hugely!
