It’s 9.45pm and I’ve just got home from a very, very long day down in Wollongong… a total of 3 hours on a train and 8 hours helping plan and hang an exhibition. When I left Laura and David were hanging the final piece – a grid of work (mind you there were about 18 pieces in that one grid). The gallery is looking really good and we’re all really pleased with what we achieved today :-).

On the way home I pulled out my sketch book and found this Egret amongst my source material for the painting I finished yesterday. It was exactly the right thing to practise on, the last Egret for now at least, flying away (and off the paper!!).

It was going quite well and I was really enjoying myself until we changed trains half an hour from home – the next train was an old bone shaker and it was incredibly hard then not to ruin everything as the pencil jumped about all over the page!
