Day 357: Spotted Lily, continued…

Zantedeschia (Watercolour)
Zantedeschia (Watercolour)

Another day of lilies and now all the leaves are green… Painting in this style might give good results but it can be really time consuming as you have to be sure you never paint two adjacent areas while they’re still wet. Tomorrow I can begin to add the details of veins and shadows and maybe remove the masking – the spots on the leaves are quite bright, but not brilliant white, so I think there’ll be some work to do to make them blend in to the leaves properly.

I’m determined to finish this soon and move onto something new, so I might just have to arrange an extended painting session tomorrow :-). We’re going to watch England and Australia in the first day of the final test match on Friday, which makes this a doubly good idea as I’ll be limited in what I can do on that day. I might have to do my practise before we leave in the morning, if I can get up early enough!
