Today’s effort has reminded me that I need to practise sketching more regularly in order to improve both my coordination and my skill in mark making – I’m considering that it might actually have been easier to go straight into painting with this one.
This is from a photograph I took a few years ago on holiday down on the South Coast of NSW. It’s been sitting in my inspiration folder waiting for the right mood, unfortunately I don’t think today was the day. I got horribly lost while drawing the rocky promontory and started to make it up instead, then I couldn’t really work out how to make the rock pools look like water rather than rock. To top it all even the horizon is a bit wonky 🙂
This is one I was really glad to get to the end of, I hope I can do better for my 100th post tomorrow!
