Watercolour Study – Granny Smith Blossom, Pt. 2

Granny Smith Apple Blossom (Watercolour Study)
Granny Smith Apple Blossom (Watercolour Study)

Stage two of the watercolour study of my new Granny Smith apple tree… I’ve started to add some shadow to the petals of the blossom and also darkened the background around the petals to make them look whiter – it still needs a bit more, I think.

Unfortunately that’s all I had time for today … tonight is the AGM at Project gallery in Wollongong and I’m waiting for the worst of a thunderstorm to pass before I leave the house to catch a train. It’s been an exciting year for all of the Committee and now we’re hoping to pass on the duties to a new team. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, and how much we’ve all learned, but I think we’re all looking forward to diving into some new personal projects… including lots more painting!

I just hope the rain doesn’t keep people away!
