Day 133: Upside Down Dog

I had a great day down at Wollongong today – if only it was a bit nearer I suspect I’d be spending a lot of time there! There weren’t many visitors but a few passed through and there’s more expected for the weekend.

I knuckled down on the train coming home and tried to get to grips with Sketchbook Mobile, a digital painting application. I’ve had it for quite a while but haven’t used it much, I’ve been concentrating so much on watercolours lately that it’s been pushed aside somewhat. It’s also quite different from Photoshop which I’m very familiar with. Anyway, with a photo sitting next to me on my mobile phone I managed to sketch this picture of my dog, Flint, which I’m extremely happy with. Very rough, but all his bits are there 😛 He’s so cute when he sleeps upside down!

Oh, and I also remembered to take a photo of my framed painting hanging in the gallery… doesn’t it look so much better in a frame!

  1. What a fabulous dog study.I feel relaxed just looking at it :-).
Can’t believe you did this on the train!

    1. Thanks Dad, it wasn’t too bad, the trains are quite smooth and being digital you can always undo or paint over bits that go wrong, unlike watercolor 🙂
