My drawing today was particularly hard… thank goodness you can’t really tell that I’ve completely moved and redrawn her nose. Once again started at work, I’ve just spent over another hour Β this evening trying to complete this sketch.
I almost left it half done as I was so completely lost… but then, I had nothing much else to do this evening π It’s the first day of the 3rd test so I’m resigned to watching cricket for the the next 5 days – this is when I wish we had a second TV!
This is the first sketch that I’ve stared at until I couldn’t see it properly, so I had to put it aside for half an hour and come back with a fresh perspective. I’m glad I did because it does actually hang together, just about. I still can’t believe that the eyes are in the right place, because they seemed way out of alignment while drawing them – that’s why it’s good to look away sometimes…. and I haven’t quite caught the intense gaze that the original has – mine looks somewhat sleepy or bored I think, but it looks fox-like at least π
Thanks to Rodney Campbell on Paintmyphoto for the reference.
I really do look forward to your drawings of animals and birds – and people. They have such impact and life.
Thank you.
Thanks Dad, I think that’s the most stunning compliment I’ve ever had. I promise I’ll keep them coming! xxx
