I think I spent far too long on the computer today. and after databases all morning and fighting with WordPress all afternoon to try and format a calendar for Project Gallery it was really hard to raise any enthusiasm for painting. I eventually settled into an old rut and got my sketchbook out while dinner was cooking.
It’s just about the right length of time… even if I’m not finished by the time the food is ready I’m definitely ready for a break, and I can come back to it in half an hour with a fresh viewpoint :-).
If “old rut” and “sketchbook” give us characterful pictures like this, please keep “in the rut”. 🙂
