It’s a sure sign that autumn is on the way when you see fewer roses in gardens and more rosehips. These are some amazingly fat specimens from a nearby garden which still has beautiful delicate pink roses blooming alongside as well. You’d never believe they could turn into such huge berries!
I had some fun with this one… painted while I was cooking lamb steaks for dinner, it became nice and splodgy because I was up and down so often checking the food. I was actually quite surprised it came out so well, considering the amount of working it had (and the lack of concentration). I love the richness of the colours that resulted… if only they all fell into place so nicely.
They just keep getting better and better Kez. I just love the colours and the loose style of these Rose Hips, they’re fantastic. Perhaps you should always cook while you paint !!
