Day 62: Hunter Valley View

  • by

Hunter Valley View (Watercolour)I’m afraid I’m having technical issues tonight, mainly due to the very poor phone signal here in the middle of the Hunter Valley, and I’m not sure I can get a picture to load at the moment…. you might have to take my word for it that the view is beautiful. Mind you, that might be the case even if the picture loads, as I was painting as the sun left us and it got dark :-).

Hopefully this will load before the newsletter sends… you might also notice that this is the first painting that is captured by photograph rather than scanning, and also under artificial light, so it’s a bit dull. It’s all apologies tonight 🙂

  1. It’s tricky to know just how faithful the colours are, because of the technical difficulties. That sky is reading quite purple from where I sit…interesting though!

    1. I suspect they’re completely out 🙂 painted in the dark and photographed under a yellow incandescent light! The paper certainly wasn’t as yellow as it looks. I’ll try and include a better photo today… It was quite a sunset though 🙂

  2. Wish we were there ! What a stunning sun-set you had for your first night captured beautifully along with the vines.

    1. I wish you were here too, you’d love it 🙂 The sunrise was spectacular at 6.30am this morning too, and the birds are making a real racket!
