Fat Little Piggy Sketch

I’m afraid this poor guy is looking a bit more worse for wear than he deserves… having been quite busy all day I wanted to try something fairly quick and sketchy and found a gorgeous photo on my PMP. To begin with I was tempted to just sketch him, but then decided to try it with a paintbrush instead of graphite because I loved the colours (all mixed from just Rose Madder, Pthalo Blue and Indian Yellow).

Now it’s finished I’m quite surprised that you can tell what it is, as my drawing skills abandoned me this afternoon and I didn’t do a very good job of representing the shape – I even got his eyes at totally different heights to begin with, and there’s no rubbing out when you’re painting! Compared to his photo he’s several stone heavier and looks a good few years older. Anyway, it all sort of came together and was good fun to do, if a little nerve racking… something I should probably do more often!
